A.J. Pace is a native of Charleston, SC. He is in his second year as the Director of Bands at TL Hanna High School. 

He is a 2004 graduate of James Island High School. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2008 with a Bachelors in Music Education as well as a percussion performance certificate. He received his Masters in Music Education from Winthrop University in 2015.

He is an avid clinician, designer, and adjudicator for the marching arts around the country. His compositions and visual designs can be seen/heard in Drum Corps, Bands of America schools, Winter Guard International groups, and collegiate groups around the country.

He marched with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, and Palmetto Percussion. He also performed with the University of South Carolina Percussion Ensemble and Wind Ensemble, the Winthrop University Wind Symphony and Percussion Ensemble, and the Charleston Stage Band.

He has held positions with the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, Colts Drum and Bugle Corps, Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps, Palmetto Percussion, and Atlanta Quest.
