The band is self supporting, therefore the
Bands Boosters must use innovative ways to raise funds without
having a different fund raiser every month. Funds are raised by
the annual fruit sale, from Business and individual Patrons,
smaller fund raising events, and band fees. The T.L. Hanna Band
Keeps their fees low so that most students will be able to
participate in the band. In prior years, the expenses for the
bands have been close to $100,000.00. fortunately, the Band Aids
were able to raise the necessary funds. Unfortunately,
with rising gas prices and adding additional programs to the
band, our estimated costs for this year should be larger. Please
encourage businesses that you are involved with to become Band
Patrons, and band parents and grand parents can become
individual donors. This will help the band avoid having
additional fund raising events.
The Band Aids also provide chaperones
and volunteers for all football games and competitions. When the
band travels out of town, it takes five buses for the students
alone. Each us needs a minimum of three chaperones and many
volunteers are needed to help load equipment and props on and
off the truck and on and off the field. Volunteers are needed to
assist with the uniforms at each event and also to help serve
drinks and snacks to the students
The Band Aids provide food and drinks
at many events throughout the year. These include the band camp
cookout, school concerts at Christmas and in the Spring, The
Christmas party and Band Banquet.
This is just an overview of all the Band Aids do. As you can see, there is a lot of work required to
keep the band going. The Band Aids Cannot do it without your
help. Please sign up to serve on one of the committees. You can
also help by becoming a financial supporter of the band. The
T.L. Hanna Band provides such a positive experience to all the
students, but it cannot exist without the support of the parents
and community.
